Cultivating Collaboration (C2)

Cultivating Collaboration (C2) is a three-year project, funded by the Scottish Government, European Union and SAOS, and delivered as a strategic activity of Scotland Food & Drink. The purpose of C2 is to stimulate, encourage and support greater collaboration within Scottish food and drink supply chains, to improve profitability, market responsiveness, efficiency and sustainability.

The project, which receives support from the Scottish Rural Development Programme’s Food Processing, Marketing and Co-operation Grant Scheme, is focused towards the primary end of supply chains.

Project aims:

Businesses can access advice, knowledge, expertise, information, skill events and self-help tools directly from the C2 Team (www.ctwo.org.uk). The team offers well-resourced, practical and candid advice to farmers, producers and processors, among others, to help them generate fair and sustainable business success through co-operation and collaboration. The advice is available primarily through workshops and online, and, where appropriate, in the form of specialist support.

The project is open to anyone in the food and drink chain interested in exploring the commercial benefits of working more closely together. This includes farmers, growers, co-operatives, processors, distributors, wholesalers, foodservice operators, retailers, and public procurement organisations. Anyone in the supply chain can contact SAOS for an initial discussion.

The benefits for businesses getting involved include access to specialist advice, knowledge, expertise, information, skills events and self-help tools. They can also take part in supply chain development projects to explore how they can be more efficient and profitable. SAOS and its partners will deliver the project in a practical and responsive manner offering expertise and resources.
